Louise Stein was born in Zambia, (Northern Rhodesia) in 1950 to British parents who were tobacco farming. Due to political instability, they moved south to Harare in Zimbabwe, (Southern Rhodesia) in 1956.
Further instability led the family of seven to Australia in 1962, a land of sunshine and peace.
In 1969 Louise met and married Immo, and they lived underground in a dugout in Coober Pedy, South Australia, where Immo was mining and cutting opal.
In 1985 the family of five settled on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and opened Opals Down Under, which they still own.
Louise and Immo discovered art together and joined the Buderim Craft Cottage in 2001.
Louise works in acrylics, and loves doing naive art or abstracts.
